Location & privacy

Location is opt-in

“Use my location” or “Enable GPS” in practice mode requests geolocation. Practice mode processes location approximately every 5 seconds while visible and pauses in the background. Raw GPS coordinates stay in page memory; they are not stored in D1 or sent to our server. Leaving or reloading clears raw location data. See website analytics below for page data.

Spoken prompts

Local device voices are preferred. If no matching local voice is available, system-default speech requires your choice and may process road names and prompt text online. GPS coordinates are not included.

Search and language preferences

City or area search terms are processed by the server. The page URL determines the language: English has no language prefix; Chinese uses /zh/; Canadian French uses /fr/; Persian uses /fa/.

Maps and external links

Loading a map requests only the visible map tiles from OpenStreetMap. Video and directions links open YouTube or a mapping service under their own privacy policies. The route map does not use your location.

Website analytics

We use PostHog to analyze page views and interactions with the SDK default configuration. Cookies and local storage may retain an anonymous browser identifier. Capabilities such as session replay depend on the PostHog project settings and may process content displayed on the page. We do not send raw GPS coordinates to PostHog as custom events.

Essential hosting logs

Cloudflare may process network requests and security logs needed to provide the service.
